Tofu Rub
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 3 tbsp corn starch
- Drain and compress tofu to remove extra liquid, cube
- Mix ingredients for rub, fry in oil and set aside
Masala Sauce
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 2 tbsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1 large onion, minced
- 1 tbsp minced ginger
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 16oz cans stewed tomatoes (blended)
- 1/3 cup cream
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- Heat skillet with oil, add onions, ginger and garlic, cook until browning
- Add spices, continue to cook for 2 minutes
- Add tomatoes and peas, cook for 8 minutes, reducing
- Add cream, mix, continue to cook for 5 minutes
- Add tofu, let reheat and serve over rice
